2012 ACA Ice Breaker The 2012 Ice Breaker was a special event for artists, musicians and history buffs. Joy Smith entertained on the marimba, she even played a "merengue" and songs to sing along; Di and Don Rau gave a power point presentation on hybrid lilies and awesome sculptures; Bob and Jan Thomas took us back in time to a 1908 farmer's life, and Carol Voigts showed a high tech scrapbook she made for her grandchildren. Besides those treats we had great soups, bread, desserts and more. If you missed it, put it on your calendar for January 2013. It is our get together event of the year (some say we should have more), and we can be very proud of the variety of art, culture and history that the ACA represents. We are still looking for someone to help jazz up the website. The group elected the following directors: Cynthia Asiala, Deanna Draze, Pat Lottie, Janet Stroup and Carol Voigts. Thanks to the nominating committee of Tompke, Townsend and Joseph for handling the election. The board then elected officers: Asiala, president; Draze, vice president; Stroup, secretary; and Lottie, treasurer. Other board members are Marsha Remick and Dave Gendler. The Board will meet March 12, May 13, August 13 and November 12 this year. Thank you to the board for their hard work and dedication to keeping arts and culture in the spotlight of activities in Manistee County.
