The Manistee River Valley Museum Alliance is made up of 9 area museums and historic sites who meet 2-3 times a year to share ideas and programs. The meetings are hosted by the individual museums and organizations. We hope to offer each other encouragement as well as suggestions as new museums form.

We were founded by the Arts & Culture Alliance of Manistee County. We are an area-wide museum coalition that includes Manistee County, Benzie County and a part of Wexford County. We have continuously operated since 2014. We have found that we have a lot to learn from each other and that by sharing our skills and knowledge, we can all improve what we do.
We do not collect dues, but act primarily as a networking support group for each other. We take turns hosting each meeting. It is great fun becoming acquainted with each museum and the “stories” that tell each community’s history.
