This project consists of seventeen 4 x 10 foot murals painted by Manistee County students and displayed in the Munson Hospital tunnel that is used to transport patients between the Medical Care Facility and the main hospital. Their purpose is to provide a pleasant, interesting, and creative presence for those patients. The program was initiated in 2010 and continued for 5 successive years. They have brainstorming different ways of “elevating” these amazing pieces of art so that they can be viewed more easily by the general public. Ideas are: Print and frame smaller versions of each work of art and place them in the hospital lobby and offer a special display in Hardy Hall at the Ramsdell (goal 2026). Each piece would have a plaque with each student artist’s name. Grants are being sought to cover the cost of the project. Members of the ACA Board have viewed the tunnel murals and the ACA is partnering with Munson to help bring the Mural Project to light!
